The business was established in 1996 by Chef/Owner Sujeeth Kumar in Wellington, New Zealand under the name ‘Mahal’ and later renamed “Chutney Mary Indian Curry House”
Sujeeth, a student of Catering technology and Hotel management has had extensive experience in 5 star hotels in both Bombay and Ahmedabad.
Moving to Australia and establishing the first “Chutney Mary” restaurant in Toowoomba in June 2003, the restaurant received an overwhelming response within the Toowoomba and other towns in the area.
